Gladys Wong, CMT, MIM,
Our minds are backed by so much insecurity; they create the lies we believe.
Lately, I looked up the night sky and discovered a few planets shining brightly amongst the stars; they were Jupiter, Mars, Saturn, and Venus. Watching and thinking; the weather, the society, the world—all in chaos. I gathered it must have something to do with the astronomical changes in the universe.
I want to know if the astrological forecast in the 60s is related to our present catastrophe; I started digging for information online. Accidentally, I discovered one of my favorite songs, “The Age of Aquarius,” written in 1967 by James Rado and Gerome Ragni.
In the 1960s, a significant societal change inspired artists to write many beautiful and meaningful songs. Their works are often insightful messages to reveal the current and future changes in the world.
The Age of Aquarius song lyric is like this.
When the Moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars.
This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius.
Harmony and understanding
Sympathy and trust abounding
No more falsehoods or derisions
Golden living dreams of visions
Mystic crystal revelation
And the mind’s true liberation.
According to astrologers, the Aquarius era lasts 2150 years. The epoch began in the 1960s, when the alignment of the constellation and planets heralds a period of revolutionary, affecting humanity, and the rise and fall of civilization or cultural tendencies.
The song brought me insights into our global pandemic, especially the song’s first verse, which describes the Moon in Seventh House. The Moon signifies illusion and deception. And the Seventh House is where we find answers to relationships.
Everyone sees Coronavirus as our foremost enemy. COVID-19 disrupts our lives; it takes away our loved ones, isolated us from our friends, family, and community. Yet, with it comes many positive changes. It brought tranquility to our surroundings, revitalized nature, where our mother earth can take a breather, and our animals can once reclaim their land. Aside from what was mentioned, our pandemic experience heightens our awareness; we are more sensitive to our boundary—our relationship with others around us. Most of all, it brought the best out of us; we become more appreciative of our loved ones, our jobs, and especially to people who are in the service industries whom we often overlooked and took for granted.
After everything being said, is it COVID-19 our enemy or our selfishness and shortsightedness are the true archrivals. Now, it is a time of transformation into the new age. We are in it together. Hopefully, after completing this chapter of our life lesson, as a human race, our hearts will become more open and responsive to each other’s needs, which encompasses our responsibility to our planet and other beings on it. Our solidarity will bring love, trust, and support to one another, and peace and harmony in the world—a golden era—living our lives to the fullest.
In the latter part of this century, many upcoming changes associating with the new ethos of the Aquarian Age will emerge. In other words, our lives will continue to follow the planetary movement of stars and planets. And the counterculture movements in the 1960s are back in style, and it is going to stay.
